Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Lesson Creator, operated by Scott Gruar (“we”, “us”, “our”), accessible at www.lessoncreator.com.au. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Lesson Creator.

1. Description of Service

Lesson Creator is an AI-powered platform that helps Australian teachers generate curriculum-aligned classroom resources, including lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, crosswords, reading guides, and more. Resources are generated using large language models (currently GPT-4o by OpenAI) based on inputs you provide.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to use the service. Lesson Creator is intended for educational professionals; you are responsible for ensuring the resources you generate are appropriate for your context.

3. Account Registration

You may register with an email address and password, or via Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@lessoncreator.com.au if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. Free Tier and Plus Subscription

  • Free tier: You may generate up to 3 lessons per week at no cost. The weekly limit resets every Friday at 4:00 PM AEST.
  • Plus subscription: Paid subscribers receive unlimited lesson generation and additional features as described on the pricing page. Subscription fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
  • Billing: Subscriptions are managed through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods except where required by Australian Consumer Law.

5. AI-Generated Content

Resources generated by Lesson Creator are produced by artificial intelligence. While we strive for quality and curriculum alignment, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or content that is not appropriate for all contexts. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before using it with students.

We make no warranty that generated content is factually accurate, curriculum-compliant, or suitable for any particular purpose. Content should be treated as a starting point and reviewed by a qualified educator.

6. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain ownership of any learning intentions, source texts, or other inputs you provide. By submitting inputs, you grant us a limited licence to process them for the purpose of generating your requested resources.

Generated resources: AI-generated resources produced based on your inputs are provided to you for your personal and professional educational use. You may use, modify, and distribute them freely in your classroom. You may not resell or commercially redistribute generated resources.

Our platform: The Lesson Creator platform, including its code, design, branding, and non-generated content, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits through automated means, multiple accounts, or other methods
  • Upload content that is defamatory, offensive, or infringes the rights of others
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the platform
  • Use the service to generate content that could harm children or facilitate illegal activity

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Availability and Changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of material changes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by law, Lesson Creator is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or curriculum compliance. Nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee or warranty that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Lesson Creator is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AU$50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss or damage.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

11. Privacy

Your use of Lesson Creator is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
