What is Lesson Creator?

Lesson Creator is an AI-powered platform that helps Australian teachers generate complete, curriculum-aligned lesson resources in minutes. Type your learning intention once and get a lesson plan, worksheet, quizzes, crossword, PowerPoint slides, and more — all consistent with each other.

Is it free to use?

Yes. The free tier gives you 3 complete lessons per week with access to all 13 tools. No credit card required to sign up.

What does "one learning intention" mean?

When you create a lesson, you type a single learning intention (e.g. "Students will understand how fractions represent equal parts of a whole"). Lesson Creator builds a shared blueprint from this — key concepts, vocabulary, examples — and every resource you generate draws from that same blueprint. That means your worksheet uses the same vocabulary as your lesson plan, your Kahoot uses the same examples as your cloze activity.

Do I need to know anything about AI to use it?

Not at all. Just type what you want students to learn, pick your subject and year level, choose which resources you want, and click Generate. Everything else is handled for you.

What tools are available?

There are 13 AI tools: Lesson Plan, PowerPoint, Resource Text (model texts), Three-Level Guide, Cloze Activity, Worksheet (MCQ + short answer), Kahoot Quiz, Blooket Quiz, Crossword, Find-a-Word, Text Analyser, Adjust Reading Level, and YouTube Video finder.

What file formats do I get?

Word documents (.docx) for lesson plans, worksheets, and reading activities. PowerPoint (.pptx) for slides. Excel (.xlsx) for Kahoot and Blooket quiz imports. All files open in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and LibreOffice.

Can I edit the generated resources?

Yes — everything is a fully editable file. Download it, open it in Word or PowerPoint, and change whatever you like.

Are the resources aligned to the Australian Curriculum v9?

Yes. All resources are designed for the Australian Curriculum version 9, across subject areas from Foundation to Year 12. You can also select specific AC content descriptors on the Unit Planner to target particular outcomes.

Can I use my own source text?

Yes. There's an optional "Source Text" field on the Create page where you can paste a passage, article, or notes. The AI will use this as the basis for your resources — particularly useful for Text Analyser and Adjust Reading Level tools.

How many lessons do I get for free?

3 lessons per week on the free tier. This resets every Friday at 4:00 PM AEST. Each time you click "Generate Resources" on the Create page counts as one lesson.

What does Plus include?

Plus gives you unlimited lesson generation, unlimited unit plans, priority generation, and early access to new tools.

How much does Plus cost?

Plus is $12 AUD per month, or $99 AUD per year (saving about 17%). See the Pricing page for full details.

Can I cancel my Plus subscription?

Yes, at any time. You keep Plus access until the end of your current billing period. There are no lock-in contracts.

What is the Unit Planner?

The Unit Planner generates a full multi-week unit plan aligned to the Australian Curriculum. It creates week-by-week lesson sequences with themes, learning intentions, key content points, and suggested activities — all following a Bloom's Taxonomy arc. Unit Planner is a Plus feature.

Can I generate lesson resources from within a unit plan?

Yes. Each lesson in your unit plan has a "Make Resources" button that takes you straight to the Create page with the learning intention pre-filled. Your lesson plan, worksheet, and other resources will be consistent with the unit context.

How long does it take to generate a unit plan?

Short units (2–5 weeks) take about 1–2 minutes. Longer units (6–10 weeks) use a parallel generation approach and take 2–5 minutes. You'll see a progress indicator while it works.

What data do you collect?

We collect your email address, the learning intentions and subject details you enter, and basic usage analytics. We do not collect student data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is my content sent to OpenAI?

Yes — your learning intention, subject, year level, and any source text you provide is sent to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o) to generate your resources. OpenAI processes this data in the United States. We do not use your content to train OpenAI models.

How long are my files stored?

Free tier files use a 5-minute download link — download them before the link expires. Plus members get extended download availability.
